Profile Information

How did you hear about Open World Café?
Through Joshua from Betterworld Cameroon
About Me:
I am interested in urban agriculture, how we vote with our food choices, creating equity, networking communities.
About my business:
Growing Greener: support or manage urban food projects
Lucy Fleetwood PA: virtual PA/administration/back office support
What I want:
Information about community gardening projects, to get an overview of what is happening around the world, to create links between projects in the UK and projects in other countries so that people can find out about how people live in other parts of the world and learn how their daily food choices are a vote that determines how people live in other parts of the world.
What I´m doing about it:
Linking up with various virtual social networks and chatting to people
For me, Leadership is . . .
Taking care of others
For me, Open World Café is . . .
A doorway
My contribution to Open World Café is . . .
To network
My Favourite Quote:
Blow, blow thou winter wind,
Thou are not so unkind,
As man's ingratitude.

William Shakespear
My passion is . . .
Growing food

Thanks LUCY
Thanks Lucy. The whole phylosophy of Better World is based on the North/South dialogue. I believe building understanding is = building bridges . That's why i am making enomous sacrifices to be able to contribute. whereever there is understanding and peace, development follows so it is important to keep on talking.

Thank you Lucy, it's what we make it, and by getting to know people like yourself, it all seems a little easier.

Thank you for being here!

Hi Lucy, Welcome on board. Open World Cafe as I've discovered is another Forum to share experiences and engage global citizenship. Thank you for already supporting me on ASP to be the voice of underrepresented farming groups of the south who are adapting and reconecting with more natural farming systems for survival. Their storries too need to be told. Here in Cameroon, people at community level want to come on board, but can Forums like these advocate for more IT facilities in the south? Otherwise how can partnerships be established and development education encouraged?
I know at the level of ASP you're attempting reflections on removing the constraints of ignorance and povert. How can such reflections be extended to Open World Cafe? With you, I will be talking more and more about joining lives and cultures through permaculture for a "Better" global environment. Cheers to Crister for creating this wonderful community space. Ours is a small world with a lot of potential to sustain itself yet Man remains the obstacle to himself.
Sincerely,
Koh.

Welcome to Open World Café Lucy, and thank you for sharing. I agree with you how important it is to increase awareness about the food we eat; where it comes from, how it's grown, etc. There are several people here on the community working with food related projects (Ramesh in Nepal, Robert Simpson in the UK, Marcos Croce and Silvia Barretto in Brazil, to name a few) besides Joshua's wonderful work in Cameroon. Feel at home, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely, Christer
