Rawfood Introduktion Matlagningskurs at Open World Café Stockholm

December 1, 2011 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm

Profile Information

How did you hear about Open World Café?
Through my father :)
About Me:
I was born in Spain 1989; spent my childhood years in Salzburg, Austria; on to Stockholm where I first learned Swedish although I had been a Swedish citizen all along; next stop Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where i grew into my teens and then back to Stockholm where I graduated from high school in 2007. After I graduated I spent six months in India working and traveling. In Rishikesh I had the privilege of living at an Ashram during the last two months of my stay, learning to appreciate the power of yoga and meditation. I studied International Relations and Politics at the Swedish National Defense College in 2008, leaving after only one semester believing that there was something else out there for me. I found back to my Austrian roots when I started studying Art History at the University of Vienna in the Spring of 09. I made my entry into the Open World Foundation by getting involved with the project "Replanting a Rainforest" through a T-shirt campaign called "Wearing is Caring" a few friends and I started. During my second semester in Vienna I started taking courses at BOKU, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, in the field of Human Ecology, which in turn inspired me to delve into the science of Permaculture. In the summer of 2010 I spent approx. six weeks at Tibá, Institute for Intuitive Technology and Bio Architecture in Bom Jardim, Brazil, practising agroforestry and building houses using earth architecture and green roofs. At present I am back in Stockholm, working for the Open World Foundation and the Open World Café developing the Rainforest Village Concept. I plan to continue my studies in Permacaulture and aim towards a Permaculture Diploma in Brazil.
For me, Sustainability is . . .
awareness and responsibility towards ourselves, nature and our fellow beings
For me, Open World Café is . . .
a place for dialogue, a means to communicate and become inspired by other like-minded individuals
My Favourite Quote:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so
that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other
people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."
My favourite movie, and my favourite book
I find solace in Krishnamurti's writings and am a sucker for Lord of The Ring.
My passion is . . .
learning
My greatest fear is . . .
fear itself

Geoff Lawton on Permaculture and Time

Posted on January 2, 2010 at 12:00am 0 Comments

This is a transcript of a video of Geoff Lawton talking about Permaculture and Time. I notice an increasing amount of people sharing this frustration which Geoff Lawton describes, and hope it can inspire others as it did me. (I'm fascinated by the idea of time being something relative, something we can expand.) See the original video on YouTube (I found the video distracting, therefore the transcript):

Dear Alexandra,

A pleasure to meet you through your profile! I feel it's so good that young people like you have already had the chance to be enriched by living in different countries, learning languages and above all experiencing yoga and meditation! YOU and other powerful and creative young people of your kind WILL CERTAINLY MAKE A BETTER WORLD.

Lots of love and good vibrations.

From the Argentine burning summer  I wish you all the best with your loveknitting in the Sweedish cold, and as your work at the Open World Café has always something to do with being better humans, I was wondering if perhaps you would be knifting to sent warm sweaters, sock or whatever to poor kids around the world.
Hope you pull through your hard winter GROWING in love, peace and understanding!
Lots of love to the circle, which I'd surely join if I had the chance, at least I m joining 'at heart'.

Stephen Hinton tells me you are looking into building dirt houses. I worked on a related hardware project. It's a do-it-yourself brick making machine. http://openfarmtech.org/index.php/Compressed_Earth_Brick_Press

Boa sorte! Rogerio
