How did you hear about Open World Café?
Through my father :)
About Me:
I was born in Spain 1989; spent my childhood years in Salzburg, Austria; on to Stockholm where I first learned Swedish although I had been a Swedish citizen all along; next stop Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where i grew into my teens and then back to Stockholm where I graduated from high school in 2007. After I graduated I spent six months in India working and traveling. In Rishikesh I had the privilege of living at an Ashram during the last two months of my stay, learning to appreciate the power of yoga and meditation. I studied International Relations and Politics at the Swedish National Defense College in 2008, leaving after only one semester believing that there was something else out there for me. I found back to my Austrian roots when I started studying Art History at the University of Vienna this Spring 09. Very recently I got involved with the project "Replanting a Rainforest" through a T-shirt campaign called "Wearing is Caring" a few friends and I started. I'm looking forward to seeing how this develops and hope to find new ways of making my contribution in the future.
For me, Sustainability is . . .
awareness and responsibility towards nature and our fellow beings
For me, Open World Café is . . .
a means to communicate and become inspired by other like-minded individuals
My Favourite Quote:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so
that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other
people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."
My favourite movie, and my favourite book
I find solace in Krishnamurti's writings and am a sucker for Lord of The Ring.
My passion is . . .
as cheesy as it sounds, help create a better world
My greatest fear is . . .
fear itself

Geoff Lawton on Permaculture and Time

This is a transcript of a video of Geoff Lawton talking about Permaculture and Time. I notice an increasing amount of people sharing this frustration which Geoff Lawton describes, and hope it can inspire others as it did me. (I'm fascinated by the idea of time being something relative, something we can expand.) See the original video on YouTube (I found the video distracting, therefore the transcript):

"It’s a rather unusu… Continue

Boa sorte! Rogerio
