Dialogues on Sustainability, Leadership and Resilience

Vision
Our vision is a network of Living Sustainable Communities where the organizations and residents live and work in a way to promote sustainable stewardship of the Earth. We hope to both inspire and help others to make this transition.
Mission
We are responding to the twin challenges of creating settlements that function with a minimum of fossil fuels, and the demand for closer-to-nature lifestyles, investments and business models.
The total landmass of the Earth is about 14,8 billion hectares. With a population of about 6,8 billion this means there are just over two hectares of land per person. Of this, only one hectare of land per person is habitable (actual figures estimate 0,7 to 1,0 ha./person).
Whilst land is scarce and getting scarcer, so is oil. Our business plan, based on figures from several sources, indicates world oil production has reached its maximum and is likely to fall per capita in the near future.
Living Sustainable Communities are not new, but unique to our concept is the integration into the running of the village food production, forest managed timber, services such as electricity and water/waste water as well as commercial services. With the right set-up, a quality standard of living and commercial services can be achieved where design (both functional and aesthetic design) reduces workload and nature does much of the work. This contrasts with conventional approaches where fossil fuel provides an "invisible army of slaves".
We offer an opportunity to invest in a company that buys, leases and/or manages land and develops it into sustainable and self-sustaining local communities. These communities can provide the local population with work and food security as well as positively influencing climate change through reforestation. And we offer a valuable return on this investment.
These Living Sustainable Communities will provide a scalable model that can then be applied internationally.
