Village Investing

.

We are presently offering Open World Café members and others in our circle shares in the Open World Village Company.

Here’s how it works:

We invest in specially chosen sites, close to towns with good infrastructure, with fertile land suitable for village development.

We engage locals to lease the land and with our help develop agro-forestry practices, permaculture farming, sustainable housing, and other village services such as a conference center and cafe and a whole range of products. Your return on the investment comes from profits on sales, leaseholds and buildings.

The more we develop the land and amenities, the more productive it becomes, the more your shares are worth.

We invite you to engage further through the offering of holistic holidays, the opportunity to exchange shares for shares in the housing, participating in an entrepreneur center, forestry investments and other projects.

Swap points for other investments

We are currently exploring a share swap plan where you can receive favourable deals including:

• Homes in Open World Villages in Sweden
• Homes in Open World Villages in Brazil
• Homes in Open World Villages in Spain
• Retire to a Rainforest Village plan
• Membership in Open World Cafés

We will do this together, one hectare at a time

How is this sustainable investment with a dividend different?
Your investment is in real assets: land, buildings, equipment – Land and buildings will always retain value because the asset is real, rather than intangible like brand or goodwill or in financial instruments. Even if the world market slumps your investment will retain its relative value.

You invest in something which provides needed products – The investment yields not only dividends, but housing, food and social cohesion. You have the security of knowing that you always are welcome to one of our villages.

Open World Foundation, as majority shareholder, helps guarantee the sustainable stewardship of the land.

Helping others

We have the idea of crowd funding eco-villages.  This is how it works (or will work when we have set it up)

You invest in Openworldvillages by buying shares or entering into a back to back preferential debenture loan agreement. That is a fancy name for project fianancing.

Our banks sets up a special account where the money is only allowed to go to a specific organisation for a specific purpose.  For example: to build a communal kitchen, laundry, water purification plant.

You sign a contract with us to lend us the money on certain terms like:

  1. it is targeted to the specific organisation
  2. interest on the loan, payback times
  3. other benefits like discounts on holidays or a place in the queue to buy houses on the property

The advantages of this type of loan are

  1. you  deal directly with us, we take care of the organisation in the other country
  2. you do not have the burden of ownership, should the project start to fail, they are bound by law to honour the debts to lenders first
  3. The terms can offer attractive benefits apart from interest
