Dialogues on Sustainability, Leadership and Resilience
.
Yet, vital functions for life on earth are seriously threatened.
The air we breathe comes from nature’s ability to recycle carbon dioxide into oxygen. This is one of the many functions of trees.
With gathering momentum over the past century, humanity has managed to reduce the forest cover on earth by more than half. This is affecting all life on the planet.
Nature is telling us that there are no borders; it’s an Open World. So we can work without borders, together, for a sustainable and resilient future. At Open World Foundation we plant trees, with your help we can plant lots of trees.
Under a tree people can sit, protected from the elements, in the
shade.
Under a tree we can pick the fruit of that tree and satisfy our
hunger.
Under a tree we can meet with friends and talk.
Here you can find out more about how to invest in Open World Village projects, live in one of our Open World Villages or if you would like to start your own, we offer help with finding financial support and providing project support.
You'll find considerable information here under the OWVillages menu, and for any further questions you can write us at: info[at]openworldfoundation.org

Thank you Ian! Please tell us more about your project in SE Tasmania (maybe some pictures?), and we would especially appreciate if you also register the project on www.openworldvillages.com. We can make a difference together! /Christer
Comment by Ian Brokenshire on November 30, 2011 at 12:29pm I love what you have started here - this is a great little community starting around the world. Right now, there are 10 people in southeastern Tasmania working on the birthing of a community village that could really gain from these sharings and the models you offer. A hotel site on 24 acres that is being arranged to become a community of perthaps 50 dwellings with a central hub of hotel and retreat facility and will have extensive growing gardens http://www.tasmanvillage.com.au/ .
Thanks to Christer and everyone involved in Open World - very inspiring.
