Dialogues on Sustainability, Leadership and Resilience
Elephant Beans
Elephant Beans is one of the few German specialty coffee roasters using coffee from direct trade. Our specialty coffees originate from personal contacts, among other with Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza in Brazil, with small farmers coffee cooperatives in Ethiopia, Nepal, Vanuatu, Ecuador or Guatemala. All coffees are sustainably produced, though not necessarily certified organic or fair trade.
We are using a green energy-powered shop-roaster and roasted coffee is prepared either in a state-of-the art portafilter machine, or manually as drip filter, with the trendy AeroPress or as plunger coffee.
In addition Elephant Beans offers a choice of direct traded specialities such as Wild Amazon Chocolate, spices from Analog Forestry in Sri Lanka, smallholder tea from Nepal, and local saffron and honey from the tri-national region.
Having worked in the field of specialty product sourcing and marketing for the past years, we are looking forward to contributing with our expertise to the further development of Open World ideas, villages, and to promoting unique OpenWorld products.
